This document is a policy paper from the e-InfraNet project concerning the environmental sustainability of e-infrastructures for science and research across the European Research Area (ERA). The document has been produced in response to a suggestion by the e-InfraNet project to make advice and guidance on this topic available to the Commission. This paper focuses on the major issues of Green Sustainability in relation to all aspects of e-infrastructures, computing, storage and networks.

The ‘Nano Report’ presents a summary of the findings of delegates who attended the e-InfraNet Open workshop ( 27th & 28th of October ’11) in a format that allows the reader to observe patterns and overlaps.

This slide set includes some of the presentations made at the Open workshop that took place on the 27th and 28th of October 2011 in Noordwijk, the Netherlands.

This report presents a summary of proceedings and conclusions from the eInfraNet Green ICT Brainstorming workshop held at the Graduate School of Education, Berkeley Square, Clifton, Bristol, UK on 26-27 May 2011. The workshop was attended by 17 participants from 6 countries. The countries represented were the UK, Spain, the Netherlands, Ireland, Finland and Latvia.

This Overview provides an inventory of current project and policy development in the area of Cloud Computing at the national level in partner countries and other EU and associated states. The document also identifies issues and questions that emerge for researchers, funders and policy makers when considering the role and impact of Cloud Computing.

These proceedings capture the content of the presentations made at the workshop as well as an overview of the debate that emerged around the key themes, questions, issues and challenges relating to the role and impact of cloud computing on e-Infrastructures for science and research.

This slide set includes presentations made during a session that e-InfraNet hosted at the Terena Networking Conference (Prague 16th- 19th, May 2011).The session entitled ‘e-Infrastructure policy issues- the e-InfraNet project and the ENPG heritage’ was chaired by Dr. Malcolm Read (JISC, UK).

This slide set contains all presentations made at the Cloud Computing workshop that e-InfraNet organised on the 29th and 30th of March 2011 in Leuven, Belgium.

This document outlines the organisation and the results of this e-InfraNet workshop dedicated to Green ICT and environmental computing (27th & 28th of October 2010). This workshop was the first of a series of workshops focussing on each of the topic areas identified in the e-InfraNet description of work – Green ICT, Cloud Computing, Openness.

The objective of this overview is to inform the e-InfraNet project of the initiatives in the area of Green and Environmental ICT that are taking place at the national level within partner countries. This overview will serve as a factual basis for the development of action plans in future work packages.
