e-InfraNet Green ICT Network Brainstorming Workshop- University of Bristol 26th & 27th of May 2011
The e-InfraNet consortium identified the lack of Green ICT knowledge as one of the bottlenecks when trying to change behaviours and promote green actions, and recognised that Green ICT awareness and skills development could be better addressed in education curricula and benefit from coordination at European level.
In order to address these issues, the e-InfraNet Action Plan calls for the creation of a pan-European Green ICT network linking together universities, research and training centres to exchange knowledge, experience and skills in the field of Green ICT.
The action plan provided for the organisation of a brainstorming workshop to explore the feasibility of this proposal and to further refine the scope of the network’s activities.
The workshop took place on the 26th and 27th of May 2011 in the University of Bristol, UK. It was attended by 7 representatives from the e-InfraNet consortia and by 11 representatives from Higher Education and Research Institutions. It identified and prioritised a number of possible projects that the network could reasonably expect to focus on over the course of a 12-18 month time frame.
